Temple picked up a pair of Tampa Bay’s top receivers Sunday.
Jefferson seniors Derrick Ingram and Ventell Bryant both orally committed to the Owlsafter official visits to the American Athletic Conference program.
“Today I committed to Temple University!” Bryant announced on Twitter. “This gonna be my family for the next 4 years.”
Bryant, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound athlete, ranked among the area’s most productive receivers this fall, racking up 704 receiving yards. Eleven of his 34 catches were for touchdowns, and he helped the Dragons finish 10-2 and reach the Class 6A region semifinals.
Ingram, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound athlete, faced double coverage often but still finished with 523 yards, 23 catches and 11 total touchdowns. He also had 42 tackles and three interceptions at safety. He had initially committed to Ohio and also holds offers from Bowling Green and UMass, among others.
Oral commitments are non-binding until recruits sign letters of intent during their senior years.
