Largo’s Cordell Hudson ended the wait on where he would play in college by picking Syracuse.
Hudson was among the last remaining Division I Pinellas County prospects from the class of 2014 yet to make a decision. After pondering his college future for the past six months, Hudson made up his mind Sunday night.
“I just felt like it was the best fit for me,” Hudson said of Syracuse. “The school, coaches, program. I like pretty much everything.”
Hudson, listed as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, had 15 offers, nearly all coming since the spring when he had a meteoric rise. He narrowed the list to a top three and took visits to Iowa State, Rutgers and Syracuse.
A stellar student-athlete, Hudson is taking dual-enrollment courses at St. Petersburg College and will graduate with his associate in arts degree. He has a 4.5 weighted grade-point average and has scored 1150 on the SAT and 23 on the ACT.
