Sickles DE Devin Santana has orally committed to Florida Atlantic, Santana announced Sunday via Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior was one of Tampa Bay’s top pass rushers this fall. He racked up 101 tackles – 19 for a loss – and 14.5 sacks for the Gryphons. Santana also forced five fumbles, recovered four and blocked a field goal.

He and fellow Division I recruit Josh Black led a dominant defensive line that allowed fewer than 12 points per game and helped carry Sickles to its first district title and the Class 7A region final.

Santana is the third Gryphon to commit to a D-I program so far, joining lineman Zach Hudson (USF) and WR/TE Chett LeVay (FIU). Black hasn’t announced a college decision yet.

One other recruiting update: Central LB/RB Mike Rossetti has orally committed to Campbellsville University, an NAIA program in Kentucky, former Bears coach Mike Einspahr said in a text message.

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound senior finished the season with 24 rushing yards, 21 tackles, one interception and one touchdown. He'll join teammate Jeremy Luckett at Campbellsville.

Oral commitments are non-binding until recruits sign letters of intent during their senior years. National Signing Day is Wednesday.
