Pinellas: Baseball super 7, stats

Times’ super 7
Records and stats through Wednesday
1. Clearwater Central Catholic (6-0): Marauders passed a tough test last week by beating Calvary Christian. They likely won’t be tested for a few weeks, but a late March game against East Lake awaits.
2. Osceola (6-1): The Warriors will get all they can handle tonight at Northeast. With ace Keith Weisenberg on the mound and an offense that has scored six or more runs in five of seven games, they can compete against anyone.
3. Northeast (5-2): After beating East Lake and Countryside in the same week, then shutting out Clearwater, the Vikings are atop the very tough Class 7A-9. Pitching, defense and just enough hitting has been the key so far.
4. Countryside (6-1): Christian Townsend has quickly established himself as one of the better pitchers in the area. If the hitting gets more consistent, Countryside will be tough to deal with.
5. East Lake (6-2): Eagles appear to be back on track after consecutive losses to Northeast and Largo. A big test awaits tonight at Countryside.
6. Calvary Christian (7-1): The only loss was to CCC, and the Warriors battled back in that one. Daniel Broeseker is a top-notch starter, and Tommy Georgevich, Graham Hoffman and Ray Hansen are hitting well right now. Loss of Jake Richardson for two weeks is big.
7. St. Petersburg (5-4): A tough loss to Manatee was followed by a win over Largo. If the Green Devils can be more consistent, they can go on a nice run.
On the bubble: Indian Rocks Christian (6-4), Pinellas Park (6-5).
