1. Strawberry Crest (16-1): The Chargers are up to No. 5 in the latest state rankings and blew out East Bay on Tuesday. They’ll take a 13-game win streak into Thursday’s big showdown with Plant City.
2. Bloomingdale (13-1): A shutout win over Plant kept the Bulls perfect in Class 8A, District 7 and the favorites for the district title.
3. Plant City (14-4): Kacie Booth and the Raiders have won six games in a row entering Thursday’s matchup with Strawberry Crest. Plant City lost the first meeting 3-0.
4. Alonso (10-4): Florida State recruit Jessica Warren ranks among the state’s leaders with seven home runs and a .644 batting average.
5. Chamberlain (12-2): The Chiefs have blown out their past four district opponents by a combined score of 59-4.
6. Leto (10-3): A one-run win over Jefferson is the highlight of the Falcons’ four-game win streak.
7. Seffner Christian (10-1): The Crusaders have a chance to avenge their only loss of the season in Friday’s rematch with Carrollwood Day.
