Steinbrenner alum Danny Rodriguez threw the first no-hitter in Pasco Hernando State College history last week.
He struck out nine batters in a seven-inning 13-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader against Morton (Ill.) College. Rodriguez didn’t allow a walk in the game, and the freshman was honored Tuesday as the National Junior College Athletic Association’s regional co-pitcher of the week.
Rodriguez improved to 5-2 and lowered his ERA to 1.57.
