St. Petersburg's Dayon Griffin and Largo's Donavan Hale were each named to the all-state basketball teams this week.
Griffin, a 6-foot-5 guard, was a Class 8A first-team selection. The Louisiana Tech recruit averaged 22 points as a senior and scored 32 in a region final overtime loss to eventual state champion Winter Park.
Hale, a 6-3 guard, was selected to the 6A second team. He overcame ankle and knee injuries to lead the Packers to their second straight conference title and advance to the region semifinals. Last month, the junior picked up his first offer from Florida State.
The all-state teams are put together by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches and Source Hoops
