A few recruiting nuggets from the last few days:
• Sickles junior ATH Ray Ray McCloud III announced his invitation to the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game. The 2,300-yard rusher holds offers from Clemson, Florida and Florida State, among others. The all-star game could have a very strong local flavor – Armwood DE Byron Cowart and East Lake ATH George Campbell will participate in it, and Nature Coast OL Christian Pellage and Tampa Bay Tech ATH Deon Cain have also been invited to play in it.
• Berkeley Prep held a signing ceremony this week for five athletes. Basketball standout Marshall Holmes will walk on at UCF after helping the Buccaneers reach the Class 4A state semifinals. He joined Paola Maymi (track and field, Bowdoin College), Nikki Potts (diving, Florida), Warren Backman (soccer, Emerson College) and Maddie Raquet (volleyball, Troy).
• 247Sports recently released its list of the country’s top 247 prospects for the class of 2016. Blake’s Shavar Manuel was No. 2, and four other four-star talents cracked the rankings. Tampa Catholic WR Nate Craig is No. 92 overall, and teammate Malik Barrow, a 6-foot-3 defensive end, is No. 206. Hudson OL Grayson Stover, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound recruit, is No. 199, followed by Plant City ATH TJ Chase (217). Craig has claimed offers from USF and Michigan this week, and Chase recently added an offer from the Bulls, too.
• Brooks DeBartolo F Jio Molina signed with Penn State Beaver this week. He averaged 9.6 points and 7.8 rebounds this season for the Phoenix.
• Hudson RB Noah Siegrist has accepted a spot as a preferred walk-on at UTEP. The 5-foot-10 senior rushed for 1,400 yards last fall to help the Cobras reach the playoffs.
