Alonso senior lefy Cody Beckman made his college choice official by signing his letter of intent with N.C. State.
Beckman, who was 3-1 with a 2.10 ERA as a junior, held opponents to a .211 average - all while dealing with a lingering back problem. In 16.2 innings, he struck out 21 and walked 18. He also was invited to the USA Baseball 17-under National Team Development Program in Cary, N.C.
