St. Petersburg tight end Jeremy Kerr has been an oral commit to Miami since June, but now Oklahoma State has entered the picture, according to coach Joe Fabrizio.
The Cowboys were not one of the original teams to show interest in Kerr. He was looking at Purdue, UConn and Wake Forest before participating in a camp at Miami and making an oral commitment. Kerr, who is 6-foot-5, 245 pounds, is used mostly as a blocking back in St. Petersburg's run-oriented offense.
Also, Green Devils kicker Sean Covington made an official visit to UCLA this past weekend. He was on the sidelines during UCLA's home win over Utah. Covington has kicked several field goals of more than 50 yards this season and averages more than 45 yards per punt.
