TAMPA — The Lions are on a three-game winning streak, made possible by a second half shutout against Blake after being down six points in the first half during a rainy homecoming game.

Key drive: Delvin Austin had a 75-yard interception that helped set up a 5-yard quarterback scramble by Otis Williams, who filled in for the injured Demario Brisbon. Bader Alhomsi’s extra point was the first place kick of the game to not be blocked, allowing the Lions to regain the lead.

Stars of the game: The Lions defense halted Blake’s ground game after allowing 71 yards and a touchdown in the first half. They also finished the night with four interceptions, a fumble, and one safety.

Stat of the game: Brisbon continued to comfortably throw the ball despite inclement weather, completing three of his five passes for 85 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Final word: “It was a big win. We grew a lot as a team and we found ourselves. I’m really proud of these guys.” — King coach Trey Thomas
