LARGO — Down one with under 30 seconds left, Largo quarterback Donavan Hale capped an 11-play, 72-yard drive by hitting Jonathan Crawford for a 10-yard score. The game saw four second-half lead changes. With 229 passing yards from QB Ryan Davis and 187 on the ground from Tyriek Hopkins, Lakewood appeared in control after a late fourth-quarter TD. But Hale, who finished with 239 yards passing, completed 4 of 8 passes, including his second TD of the game.

Stars of the game: Along with the impressive numbers through the air and two touchdown passes, Hale’s poise down the stretch was exactly what Largo needed in an all-around excellent team effort.
Stat of the game: Largo ran no plays in Lakewood territory in the first half. Despite that, a large disparity in first-half yards and an early 13-point deficit, a big touchdown by Hale and a clutch punt block and return helped Largo tie at 13 before the back and forth second half.
