The news that Florida State running backs coach Eddie Gran is leaving for a job elsewhere came as a shock to St Petersburg Catholic's Ryan Green Tuesday, but it's not enough to cause the speedster to waver from his college choice.
"He's good to go. He's still a Seminole,'' said his father, Vader Green, who had already received calls from recruiting services, including one that said it was ready to write the story about his son de-committing.
Vader Green talked to his son and called that report "crazy."
Ryan Green, who verbally committed to the Seminoles in June, will sign with FSU on Feb. 6, national signing day.
Though Gran recruited him and built a strong relationship with the Barons senior, Green talked with coach Jimbo Fisher (who calls the offensive plays) Tuesday afternoon and was assured "he is still FSU's guy."
Though he missed almost all of his senior season with a shoulder injury, Green (5-10, 195) is back competing on the Barons' basketball team, and will play in the upcoming Under Armour All-American game at Tropicana Field on Jan. 4.
