St. Petersburg senior Sean Covington and Pasco sophomore Brandon Ray both earned first-team All-America honors by Kohl’s Kicking Camps.
Covington was one of two first-team picks at punter for the recruiting class of 2013. The UCLA commit was a first-team all-Suncoast punter by the Times after averaging more than 46 yards per kick this fall.
In last week’s Under Armour All-America Game at Tropicana Field, Covington hit all three of his field goals and an extra point while averaging 40.8 yards per punt.
Ray was the site’s top punter for the class of 2015 after averaging almost 40 yards per punt. The site ranks him as the No. 14 kicker in his recruiting class.
He also caught two touchdowns as a slot receiver and had two interceptions and 28 tackles as a starting defensive back during the Pirates’ run to the Class 5A region final.
