Gulf is getting closer to naming its next head football coach.
Buccaneers athletic director Travis DeWalt said the school plans to narrow its choice of candidates to three by the end of the week.
“We are still working through the process,” DeWalt said in an email.
Last week, the school interviewed: Bruno Buonsanto (Gulf weightlifting coach), Peter DiNovo (youth coach and father of East Lake QB/UCF commit Pete DiNovo), Michael Lube (former USF player and grad assistant), Craig Moore (Anclote assistant), Ken Davis, Chris Sands (Gibbs assistant), Joe Skladany and Jason Messamore (East Lake assistant).
The Buccaneers are looking for the replacement to Tom Carter, a longtime Land O’Lakes assistant who finished 2-18 in two seasons as Gulf’s head coach.
