CLEARWATER — Robby Hicks looks like he has been the starting quarterback all season, completing 12 of 23 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown as Countryside stopped Clearwater 44-7 Friday.
Hicks ran a balanced offense, totaling 222 yards.
The Tornadoes (2-5, 1-2) came to play, however. Jordan Leston was 10-of-32 for 101 yards and added 46 yards on the ground, including Clearwater's lone touchdown. That came on an 11-play, 80-yard drive late in the second quarter.
Countryside (7-1, 3-0) scored six touchdowns and added a 47-yard field goal from Ryan Pandy in the second. Senior Mike Flory scored twice and Marrieo Taylor had a 69-yard punt return in the third quarter that put Countryside up 38-7.
