Berkeley Prep defensive tackle and Stanford commit Bo Peek has transferred to Plant, the three-star recruit announced via Twitter on Sunday evening.
“I have decided to transfer to Plant High School for my senior season,” Peek said on Twitter. “This decision is what is best for my family.”
Though the announcement came Sunday, just hours before the first day of football practice in Hillsborough County, coach Robert Weiner said he learned that Peek had enrolled at the school in the beginning of the summer. Weiner said he has yet to see Peek at a team workout.
Last season, Peek, a 6-foot-3, 290-pound recruit with more than 20 Division I offers, recorded 42 tackles, 23 for loss, and 3.5 sacks. The role the senior will play on the Panthers’ defense is still unclear.
“I can’t really answer that question until he’s here and I see him,” Weiner said. “Like all of our players, we’ll be excited to have our guys today.”
