RIVERVIEW — Quarterback Keisean Young ran for three first-half scores for the Sharks.

Riverview (1-1) ran on all but one play with nine different ball carriers. Young led with a game-high 209 yards on 20 carries. The junior scored from 1 yard to cap a 14-play opening drive then went nearly untouched up the middle on runs of 65 and 76 yards on consecutive series.

“I saw the linebackers overshift (on the long TD runs),” Young said. “I just hit the seam and took off.”

Brandon (1-2) cut the lead to 28-21 with 4:27 left on a 52-yard pass from Brandon Jones to Jonathan Jones (nine carries for 68 yards and a touchdown). The Eagles forced a three-and-out on the next possession and took over at their 13 with 3:02 to play.

They reached their 45. But Brandon Jones’ arm was hit on a pass, and lineman Arlyn Grace caught the deflection with 39 seconds to play. It was the Sharks’ third interception of the game.

“I had confidence in our defense,” Young said. “We condition for that fourth quarter, and I knew it was their time.”
