Players from three area counties will be represented in Sunday’s Florida Association of Basketball Coaches all-star games at The Villages Charter School.

River Ridge center John Childs will be on the blue team with Strawberry Crest’s Malik Channer and Plant’s Andrew Sanders. Childs, a Saint Leo commit, averaged 16 points, 6.3 blocks and 11.2 rebounds this winter. Sanders led the Panthers in scoring (17.3 points per game), rebounding (11.3) and steals (3.2), and Channer’s 13.5 points per game helped the Chargers reach the Class 7A region semifinals.

They’ll face Tampa Catholic forward Chivarsky Corbett of the white team in the 5 p.m. game. The Delaware signee averaged 20.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.1 blocks this season.

Strawberry Crest guard Aliyah Gregory and Dixie Hollins’ Megan Thomas will play against each other in the 3 p.m. girls game. Gregory, a UCF recruit, averaged almost 21 points per game to go along with seven steals, five rebounds and five assists. Thomas was among Tampa Bay’s leading scorers at 26 points per game for the 19-6 Rebels.
